The North Central Board of Realtors serves as the voice of real estate in Baxter and Marion counties, but there’s more to the local organization that some may not be aware of. The Board of Realtors aims to enhance the value of belonging to a realtor association through services including education, quarterly meetings, committee participation, professional development, publications and charitable outreach programs.
North Central Board of Realtors Secretary Heather Hendricks, Treasurer Lori Lawhead and past president Sandy Davenport were recent guests of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. Davenport says there is a difference between a realtor and a real estate agent.

The board has a focus on community development and is at the helm of various community-driven programs. One of those programs is the annual Feed the Children Food Drive, scheduled to start next month. Lawhead says she currently serves as the chair of the committee that has been in existance since the 1990s.

The North Central Board of Realtors also has a scholarship program available. Hendricks says the program is courtesy of numerous fundraisers throughout the year.
