Two Bakersfield men arrested in connection to a machete assault

Two Bakersfield men have been arrested after one allegedly assaulted a man with a machete. Chad McKee and Christopher McKee were both taken into custody on charges related to the incident.

According to a Facebook post from the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence in Bakersfield on Sept. 16. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been assaulted with a machete and had nearly lost his hand. The victim retrieved a gun and fired at the suspect, who fled the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital.

The investigation revealed the assault was premeditated, leading to a search warrant being issued for the residence where the suspect, Chad McKee, was staying. The Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force assisted in executing the warrant at a residence in Caulfield. During the search, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and a machete were found, and Chad McKee was arrested.

On Sept. 23, Christopher McKee was arrested for allegedly attempting to cover for Chad McKee and lying to deputies about his whereabouts. During the arrest, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and a firearm were discovered.

Chad McKee faces charges including assault, possession of methamphetamine, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action, along with other charges. Christopher McKee was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
