With seeding implications on the line for the postseason, the Mountain Home High School football team went to Pearcy and took care of business. The Bombers were able to shut out Lake Hamilton 36-0.

Mountain Home was playing without head coach Steve Ary on the sideline as he was dealing with a health issue. The Bombers got the scoring started on their second possession of the night as the drive started on their own 10-yard line and ended with a seven-yard touchdown run by Jacob Chenowith with just over 6 1/2 minutes left in the opening period. Mountain Home added to their lead early in the next quarter on a two-yard keeper by Barrett Miller. Isaac Ballard further padded the advantage with a 41-yard field goal with nearly 6 1/2 minutes left in the first half. The Wolves were trying to get on the board on the last play before halftime, but Talan Palmer intercepted a Landon West pass and returned it 99 yards for the touchdown, and the Bombers went into the locker room up 23-0.

The third quarter was scoreless as Mountain Home was content to run as much time off the clock as possible. Early in the final period, the Bombers faked a squib kick setup as Chenowith took the inside delayed handoff and ran it into the end zone from 33 yards out. Nearly five minutes later, Dawson Dunlap had the final score of the game on a 12-yard touchdown run, and the mercy rule was invoked for the remainder of the game.

Miller ended up with 197 yards on the ground, and Chenowith added 137. As a team, Mountain Home had 56 carries for 368 yards.

The Bombers improve to 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in the 6A-West. Lake Hamilton falls to 5-3 and 3-2.

Mountain Home will have their last home game of the regular season as they meet Van Buren next week for Senior Night.
