The Mountain Home High School Bomber Band had another successful week, and that includes earning a spot in the Class 6A State Marching Contest on Nov. 6.
The Bomber Band qualified for state after earning superior first division ratings Tuesday at the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region VI Marching Assessment in Rogers. They also completed the first part of the Sweepstakes Award, with the concert and sightreading portions coming in the spring.
On Saturday, the Bomber Band also earned superior first division rating for colorguard, percussion and overall band performance at the 42nd annual Paragould McDonald’s Marching Invitational. The band placed third in their classification and finished ninth out of 29 bands from Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi.
The band will present its “lights out” run-through at Bomber Stadium Tuesday evening at 8:15. The marching exhibition will be on Nov. 7 at 6:30 and will feature the junior and senior high bands.
