NWS graphic shows rainfall potential Wednesday evening into early ThursdayAfter weeks of dry weather, the Twin Lakes area is set to receive welcome rain later this week, providing much-needed relief to North Central Arkansas. According to the National Weather Service in North Little Rock, the rainfall is expected to begin mid-week as a strong storm system and accompanying cold front approach the region.

Until then, above-normal temperatures and breezy conditions will continue, with gusty winds anticipated through Wednesday. This dry and windy weather heightens the risk of wildfires, prompting caution among residents in Baxter and surrounding counties. Despite this, the forecasted rain offers hope of alleviating the dry conditions that have increased fire risk across the area.

Starting Wednesday evening, the approaching storm system could bring not only beneficial rainfall but also a possibility of severe weather, including damaging winds and hail. Rainfall is expected to taper off by Thursday, with Halloween evening expected to be mostly dry but cool, with temperatures in the 50s to upper 60s.

The NWS forecasts that much of North Central Arkansas will see at least an inch of rain from this system, with potential for additional showers over the weekend.
