When the Mountain Home High School football team went to play at Lake Hamilton Friday night, they had to make the trip without their head coach. Steve Ary had suffered a mild heart attack last week, but he says he is feeling better and has returned to work this week.
Ary tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot Sports he is relieved he didn’t suffer any heart damage.

In addition to the work of the medical staff, Ary says he is grateful for the community support he’s received over the last few days.

The Bombers are scheduled to play their final home game of the regular season this Friday against Van Buren. Ary says he hopes to be back on the sideline for Senior Night, but he also wants to make sure he doesn’t do more than he’s capable of.

Ary also gave a brief update on Brantlee Phillips. It was Oct. 11 when Mountain Home’s junior quarterback had his collarbone broken in a game at Russellville. Phillips is expected to have an X-ray on Wednesday to determine his healing progression and how much longer he’ll have to sit out.
