As trick-or-treaters head out Thursday evening for Halloween there are many family friendly events taking place across the area.

Hiram Shaddox Health and Rehab will host their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat Festival starting at 5 this evening until they run out of candy. The residents will be passing out candy, have vehicles set up, and employees in costume at 1100 Pinetree Ln. in Mountain Home.

The Bull Shoals Methodist Church will host a free trunk-or-treat from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring a trunk-decorating contest open to the community, with a prize for the best decorated trunk. The event includes games, free hot dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and plenty of treats.

The Cotter Fire Department will also hold a drive-thru trick-or-treat from 6 to 8 p.m. at its location on 950 Harding Blvd. Participants are asked to follow signs for entry.

The City of Mountain Home does not set hours or regulations for trick-or-treating.
