Eric Gunter was sentenced to three years in prison after having his probation revoked during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court October 21.
The 45-year-old Gunter who now lists an address in Rogers was initially put on probation for having a cache of prohibited articles in his cell while being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on charges in an earlier case.
When officers conducted a search of the jail, they found a number of items in Gunter’s cell including a cell phone, homemade battery pack, cigarette lighter, tobacco, a small file and piece of metal concealed in a hole dug in the concrete wall, a single bud of marijuana, a length of electrical wire and an empty toothpaste tube being used as a “concealment device.”
In late October 2023, a revocation petition was filed against Gunter alleging he had violated the terms and conditions of his 48-month probation.
The allegations include failing to report for an office visit, not reporting a change of address, failing to pay court-ordered child support and being in arrears slightly more than $11,000, not paying supervision fees, evading supervision and being charged with 3rd degree battery in Benton County.
The 2024 petition was one of several filed since Gunter was originally put on probation in the 2018 case.
