State volleyball championships awarded Saturday in Hot Springs

The high school volleyball season ended Saturday in Arkansas with the state championship matches at Bank OZK Arena in downtown Hot Springs.

Conway came away with the Class 6A trophy. The Lady Wampus Cats defeated Bentonville in four sets with scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-12. Conway finishes the season at 24-9. The Lady Tigers fall to 24-7.

The Class 5A title was captured by Shiloh Christian. The Lady Saints beat Greenbrier in straight sets as they posted scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21. Shiloh Christian wraps up the year at 34-4. The Lady Panthers drop to 21-9.

Brookland went back to northeast Arkansas with the Class 4A state championship. The Lady Bearcats topped Wynne in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-12. Brookland’s final record is 33-4. The Lady Yellowjackets end up at 21-11.

Paris ended up winning the Class 3A state title in four sets over Central Arkansas Christian. The Lady Eagles posted scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-9 and 25-22. Paris concludes the season at 27-5. The Lady Mustangs fall to 21-9.

Hackett went to Hot Springs undefeated, and they left that way as they won the Class 2A crown. The Lady Hornets defeated England in straight sets with scores of 25-11, 25-11 and 25-13. Hackett’s final record is 36-0. The Lady Lions end up at 19-8.
