The Baxter County Quorum Court will meet Monday night at 6 in the 2nd floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse. The meeting was moved to Monday night due to the General Election.
Items on the agenda include:
– a third reading on an amending ordinance requiring county employees to use direct deposit;
– a second reading of an ordinance to change the name of Animal Control to Animal Control/Shelter;
– a second reading of an ordinance to adopt revisions to the Baxter County personnel policy and Sheriff’s Office policy;
– an ordinance to appropriate fees and reimbursements in the amount of $7,353 into the Sheriff’s Office budget for September;
– an ordinance to appropriate $18,552 into the 2024 road and bridge budget;
– an ordinance to appropriate $50,00 from the jail maintenance and operation fund to the 2024 jail maintenance and operation budget;
– an ordinance to set aside $100,000 for the Baxter County Historical Society to renovate the Casey House;
– an ordinance to adopt the 2025 budget;
– an ordinance to establish compensation for the Baxter County Planning Board;
– an ordinance to increase compensation for the Baxter County Quorum Court;
– an ordinance to extend the temporary full-time deputy assessor positions in the Assessor’s Office;
– an ordinance levying millage taxes for 2024;
– a resolution to confirm County Judge action on hangar lease for the Baxter County Airport; and
– a resolution to confirm the appointment of Steven Couch to the Buford Volunteer Fire Department Board of Commissioners.
