The Forum/Alabam Fire Department issued an update to the community regarding recent flooding and washed-out areas in the region. In a Facebook post, the department informed the public that the park is currently closed due to the conditions.
“Please use an alternate route to Spur 23,” the post said. “…Park officials have barricades at the North and South entrances.”
Late last night, around 8:30 p.m., the Huntsville Fire Department responded to a water rescue operation, helping campers who had become stranded in floodwaters. Fortunately, the rescue was successfully carried out.
“As always be cautious when driving- turn around, don’t drown!!” the post reminded the community.
