The City of Mountain Home has been awarded a $25,000 Tennis Venue Services (TVS) grant from the United States Tennis Association, with an additional $20,000 from USTA Arkansas. The $45,000 total grant will fund the reconstruction of three tennis courts at Cooper Park, expected to be completed next spring.
Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams says, “The City of Mountain Home takes pride in listening to our community members and being able to partner with USTA to fulfill a long time dream of renovating the Cooper Tennis complex. My goal is to continue to grow Mountain Home, not only adding new and exciting aspects but also ensuring that our current parks and facilities receive the upgrades and improvements that are needed to make Mountain Home an inviting place for our community for years to come.”
The USTAs Tennis Venue Services grant program helps enhance or build tennis venues across the U.S., increasing access to the sport. Since 2005, the program has awarded over $17 million in grants, impacting more than 43,000 courts and contributing to $610 million in infrastructure development.
Grant recipients also benefit from USTA project management assistance, including industry expertise in facility design and business development insights.
Craig Morris, USTAs Chief Executive of Community Tennis, says the organization is dedicated to supporting tennis facility development nationwide, providing communities with opportunities for lifelong, healthy activity through the sport.
