A Mountain Home man facing three counts of rape and one count of second-degree sexual assault appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday and turned his case upside down.
The rape charges are shown as Class Y felonies, the most serious classification of crime in Arkansas. The Class Y felony carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Thirty-seven-year-old Richard Allen Druckrey is alleged to have shown up at the Baxter County Detention Center and “confessed” to his crimes, but on Monday he told Circuit Judge John Putman he wanted the confession “suppressed” and a psychological evaluation done.
He said he had requested that those actions be taken in his case but had not been able to get his attorney to do what he wanted done.
He has been an inmate at the county jail since June 15. His bond is set at $150,000.
Information on the crimes Druckrey is accused of committing in his criminal case has been sealed by the court as is normal in rape cases. However, in a domestic relations divorce suit recently filed against Druckrey, it is alleged that one of the reasons the divorce was being sought is that he had physically abused a minor child.
