A life lived on her own terms, Cynthia K. Foster passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, after valiantly battling pancreatic cancer.
Cindy was born in Parma Heights, Ohio, to Richard and Alice Belter. She joined the army as a nurse at age 18 and continued as a nurse off and on while becoming the mother to three children. However, as her children left the nest, Cindy (ever-determined and adventurous) decided to earn her undergraduate and masters teaching degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Besides teaching, she was a very active community volunteer, a Master Gardener, a world traveler, and a newly-minted (but enthusiastic) K-drama fan. Cindy will be remembered by those who knew her for her strength, determination, and her spirit.
She is survived by Elayne, Nick, Ben, and Thomas Crain of Washington; Christopher, Becca, Cooper, and Lucas Foster of Virginia; and Nicholas, Alizee, Gigi, Chloe, Nick Jr., and Robert Foster of Florida, as well as a wonderful crew of friends and family.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to be sent to either the American Cancer Society or any cause that you and she shared. Services in the care of Heritage Funeral Home of Springdale, Arkansas.
