With the new community center and aquatic facility under construction at McCabe Park, city officials are outlining its impact on the existing Youth Center at Cooper Park.

Enoch Pepin and Andrew McNair of Mountain Home Parks and Recreation recently spoke with KTLO, Classic Hits, and The Boot News to discuss upcoming changes. The new facility, slated for completion in early 2026, will house some offices currently located at the Youth Center.

Despite the relocation of staff, Pepin emphasized that after-school and summer programs for children ages 8 to 14 will remain unchanged. He added that the new center will help fill a gap for teens who age out of the current Youth Center programming.

The current pool at Cooper Park will be turned into a splash pad after the new facility is completed. The new center will also feature three basketball courts and three volleyball courts, expanding opportunities for these sports programs.

Pepin says this new facility will help increase the quality of life in the city.
