A Boone County woman faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting several individuals at her residence and striking a deputy during her arrest. Twenty-year-old Lillie Benton is facing charges of battery, terroristic threatening and resisting arrest for the incident.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies responded on Nov. 11 to a call from a victim who alleged Benton, intoxicated at the time, was deflating his vehicle’s tires. Deputies found no grounds for charges and advised both parties to separate for the night. Benton was reportedly upset the deputies did not arrest the victim and was informed about eviction procedures if she wanted the victim removed.
Approximately an hour later, Benton contacted the Sheriff’s Office again, requesting the victim’s removal. Deputies reiterated the eviction process, but Benton became argumentative, and the call ended.
The following day, deputies were dispatched to the residence after reports of a physical altercation. A caller claimed Benton, intoxicated again, was hitting multiple individuals and making threats.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered victims outside, who urged them to enter the residence. Inside, Benton stood in a doorway and resisted when a deputy attempted to detain her. After being handcuffed, Benton reportedly became combative and, while being escorted outside, jumped and struck a deputy’s groin with one foot and his knee with the other.
Witnesses at the scene reported Benton had attacked them, bitten one victim on the arm and ankles, and scratched her neck. Another victim said Benton had thrown a beer, broken items in the home, and kicked her in the torso. The victim stated she had recently undergone spinal surgery.
Benton was booked into the Boone County Detention Center where she is facing on felony count of second degree battery, a felony count of first degree terroristic threatening, two misdemeanor counts of third degree domestic battery and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. She is currently being held on on a $15,000 bond and has been ordered to have no contact with the victims.
