The afternoon began with the Bomber boys defeating the Rams 66-51. For much of the first half, Mountain Home battled hard on the glass as they had several offensive rebounds, but they were struggling to convert them to second chance points. Paragould led for most of the first two quarters, although the game had its only tie at halftime. The Bombers pulled away in the second half as they worked together as a team to get good looks to the basket. Mountain Home put up 19 points in the third period and 20 in the final quarter as they went on to win by 15.

Jackson Corp led the Bombers with 21 points, Ryder McClain scored 13, Tyler Podwoski had 11, and Rhett Gilbert added 10 points. Wyatt Eckles recorded 23 points for the Rams.

Mountain Home improves to 1-1 on the season, and they’ll hit the road again Thursday to meet Rogers. Paragould falls to 0-2.

The Lady Bombers followed by breezing past the Lady Rams 45-23. Mountain Home looked to be struggling in the first few minutes of the game as the teams had two ties and two lead changes, but nearly halfway through the opening period, they started showing their dominance. It proved to be a struggle for Paragould as they were outscored in the second quarter 20-3. The mercy rule was put into effect in the third quarter, a little earlier than normal, when the Lady Bombers’ lead reached 30, and they went on to post the 22-point win.

Mountain Home was led by Livi Fosness and Brooklyn Mitchell with 10 points each. No one was in double figures for the Lady Rams.

Paragould begins the year at 0-1. The Lady Bombers are now 3-1, and their next game will be Monday as they go to North Arkansas College in Harrison for a neutral site game with Har-Ber from Springdale.
