A rural Baxter County woman suffered what was termed a suspected minor injury late Monday afternoon when her vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree. Seventy-nine-year-old Carol Cox was transported by ambulance to Baxter Health.
According to the crash report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Cox was traveling in the rain on County Road 1084 between Arkawana and Three Brothers. She attempted to hit the brakes when approaching a right hand curve, but her vehicle started sliding. It ran through a guard rail, traveled off the road, went down the hill through brush and collided with a tree.
The vehicle’s front end was caved in with the battery out. The driver’s side and passenger’s side both had scratched paint. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
