The Mountain Home High School football team will be looking to come off the momentum from last week’s win to open the Class 6A State Playoffs. The Bombers will be on the road for their quarterfinal game against Little Rock Catholic.

The Bombers began the postseason last Friday on the home turf with one of the biggest crowds the state of Arkansas has had for a playoff game. The Bombers came back from being down eight to defeat Sheridan 57-50 and improve to 9-2.

Mountain Home running back Jacob Chenoweth, who has rushed for over 1,500 yards this season, had 223 in last week’s victory. He gives the credit for his success to the offensive line in front of him.

Nate Henderson is one of the guys that’s been up front blocking for Chenoweth all season. He says the part of the reason for the team’s success is the way they work together.

The Bombers are taking on a Catholic team that is playing its postseason opener after having a first round bye. The Rockets, currently 9-1, finished the regular season as the 6A-East runners-up. Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says Catholic is a team more similar to the Bombers than Sheridan.
