TRANSCRIPT
Director of Operations Chris Knight reported on the state of the roof at the Guy Berry campus, highlighting the need for immediate replacement following recent rainfall. Knight said he and Superintendent Allyson Dewey secured early construction approval from the Facilities Division, enabling the district to begin the project before finalizing funding. While funding decisions are expected in May, there is no guarantee the district will receive financial support. The project, estimated to exceed $100,000, requires the district to contract an architect as the next step.

The board approved a $1,500 stipend for the AAA-sanctioned E-Sports team and authorized a $27,701 security camera upgrade for Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary School. The upgrade will include three recorders and 66 cameras, replacing the current setup of two recorders and 21 cameras.
An additional $31,615 was approved for access control doors throughout the district, adding 13 new doors.

Dewey also introduced a policy change for the 2025-26 school year, proposing that stipend requests be submitted by June 30 to ensure alignment with the budget. Approved stipends would not take effect until the following school year. The proposal passed unanimously and will now be reviewed by the Personnel Policy Committee.
