The Arvest Bank Tournament came to an end Saturday at Flippin with both of the host teams keeping the championship trophies. The Bobcats won the boys’ title after defeating Yellville-Summit 70-41. Flippin also kept the girls’ championship after getting past another group of Lady Bobcats from Marshall 54-46.
Yellville-Summit’s girls were able to win the consolation championship. The Lady Panthers squeaked by Kingston 54-52.
The boys’ consolation bracket was won by Rural Special as they topped Lead Hill 72-47. Dawson Lively led the Tigers with 12 points, and Noah Royce added 11. Lead Hill’s next action will be Dec. 3 when they host Flippin.
Izard County’s boys took part in the Brookland Classic on Saturday, and Valley View handed them their first loss by a score of 75-65. The Cougars were led by Gabe Spray with 29 points, and Benjamin Tsuckak chipped in 11. Izard County falls to 2-1 on the season.
A few teams gathered at Bergman for the second day of Holiday Hoopsgiving. On the boys’ side, Melbourne lost to Harrison 73-49, and Valley breezed past LISA Academy North 82-62. Melbourne’s girls fell to Dumas 56-36.
Three area teams were in Clinton for the final day of the First Service Bank Classic at Clinton.
Valley Springs finished fifth on the girls’ side as they defeated Wonderview 53-48. Macy Willis was the Lady Tigers’ top scorer with 23 points, and Laramie Watkins had 11. Valley Springs improves to 9-2 on the season.
Harrison ended up in fourth place on the girls’ bracket. The Lady Goblins fell to Clinton 59-50.
Jasper took fifth place on the boys’ side. The Pirates beat Wonderview 66-57.
