Moore, McCarn sign national letters of intent to play college basketball

Two members of the Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team recently made their decisions to continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level official when they signed their national letters of intent. Laykin Moore will be attending Harding University in Searcy next year, and Anna McCarn will join the team at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.

Moore says her decision to become a Bison was due in part to the atmosphere at the Harding campus.

Moore is early in her senior season. She finished the previous year as a member of the All-State team, and she also picked up her second consecutive All-Conference honor while helping lead the Lady Bombers to the quarterfinals of the Class 5A State Tournament.

Moore says she expects to play the same position for the Bisons as she does for Mountain Home.

Laykin is the daughter of Win and Dana Moore of Mountain Home.

McCarn says the athletic and academic support available at Lindenwood helped her decision to become a Lion.

McCarn finished her junior year with Mountain Home as a member of the 5A-West All-Conference Team. She averaged of 5.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

In addition to the Lady Bombers, McCarn has been playing organized basketball during the offseason, and she is also a member of the Mountain Home High School volleyball team. She says all of those factors have helped her become a better athlete.

Anna is the daughter of Kyle and Michelle McCarn of Mountain Home.
