Monday basketball results include Flippin splitting games at Holiday Hoopsgiving

A few area high school basketball teams took part on the third day of Holiday Hoopsgiving Monday at Bergman.
Flippin ended up with mixed results. The boys invoked the mercy rule as they routed Paris 69-39. The Lady Bobcats did not fare as well as they fell to Manila 66-49.
Mountain View split their games with Jasper. The Lady Yellowjackets squeaked by the Lady Pirates 66-65. The boys’ contest had a different result as Mountain View lost to Jasper 60-44.
Bergman’s boys dominated the last game of the day. The Panthers put the mercy rule in effect as they pounded Manila 82-46.

Elsewhere, the Salem girls were able to pick up a win on the road. The Lady Greyhounds went to Newark and defeated Cedar Ridge 47-30.

Mammoth Spring split its high school basketball games with Buffalo Island Central at Monette. The Bears took the boys’ game over the Mustangs 61-41. Mammoth Spring was not as fortunate in the girls’ contest as they lost to BIC 56-35.

Melbourne’s girls notched a victory in front of the home crowd. The Lady Bearkatz topped Highland by a final of 53-37.
