Another Mountain Home High School senior will be continuing his athletic career on the collegiate level next year. Connor King recently signed a national letter of intent to join the cross country and track and field teams at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
King says he first started getting in contact with Little Rock associate head cross country coach and assistant track coach Brock Hime in May. He says his parents weren’t completely sold on the idea of their son becoming a Trojan initially.
Listen:
Earlier this month, King helped lead the Bomber boys’ cross country team to its third consecutive Class 5A state championship as he finished third individually. It was the second straight year he ended up with the All-State honor in the sport.
King also helped the Mountain Home boys’ track team win the Class 5A state title during his junior season in May. He was also named All-State for that track season as he finished fourth in the state meet’s 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.
King says the support he’s had from his teammates, the coaching staff and the community in Mountain Home has been crucial to his success.

Connor is the son of Josh and Laura King of Mountain Home.
