The Salem High School football team will continue with home field advantage on Friday as they will take part in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A State Playoffs. The Greyhounds will be matched up with Rivercrest for their third straight postseason home game.
Salem, who entered the playoffs as the 3A-2 conference champions, are currently 9-3 on the season. The Greyhounds were able to advance last week on the final play of the game. Cole Stemen went up in triple coverage and caught the 30-yard pass from Jackson Taylor in the end zone for the 16-10 victory over Prescott.
Rivercrest has a record of 11-1 and finished the regular season as 3A-3 conference co-champs, but they ended up with a No. 2 seed after losing the tiebreaker to Osceola. The Colts won their second round game last week over Rison 52-34.
Kickoff at Greyhound Stadium is set for 7.
