Norman Wilber remembered as dedicated servant through legal, civic duties

Norman Wilber of Mountain Home is being remembered as a dedicated servant to his community in the legal profession and through civic duties. Wilber died Monday at the age of 75.

Wilber was born in New York City in 1949 and relocated to Mountain Home at the age of 7. As a junior, he was a key member of the Mountain Home High School basketball team that won the state championship in 1966.

Wilber obtained a law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1976 and returned to Mountain Home to practice general civil and criminal defense law. Wilber served as an attorney for 42 years until his retirement in 2018.

Wilber’s civic life included being an active member of the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce. He is also a former member of the Mountain Home School Board.

Funeral services for Norman Wilber will be Tuesday morning at 11 at Roller Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7. He will be laid to rest at Mountain Home Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Lacy Wilber and Cara Ladd; and one brother, Bruce Wilber.
