DAYTONA, Fla. – Arkansas women’s basketball fell to 4-5 on the season after Bowling Green staged a 15-point comeback in the second half for a 79-78 win.

Despite the loss, guard Izzy Higginbottom scored 26 points for the second straight game and was one assist shy of a double-double. Higginbottom also went 12-12 from the free throw line, her fifth perfect game from the charity stripe this season. The Batesville native has recorded double figures in all nine games this season.

Sophomore forward Jenna Lawrence had a career night with career highs in points (21), threes (5) and field goals (8). Lawrence’s most important bucket in the game with 14 seconds left, her fifth three-pointer, to give the Hogs a one-point lead. Bowling Green center Erika Porter, who had 18 points on the night, drove to the basket with eight seconds left and gave the Falcons the fifth and final lead change of the day.

Overall, Arkansas shot the ball well with a season-high 48% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc. The team went 13-14 (93%) from the free throw line, which is another best this season.

The Hogs will return to Bud Walton Arena on Thursday and face Boston College in the SEC/ACC Challenge. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT and the game will air on SEC Network.
