Another election day is coming up for two area cities. Runoff races will be held Tuesday for the Bull Shoals mayoral position and Ward 3, Position 1 on the Harrison City Council.
Incumbent Bull Shoals Mayor Carol Duss is running for reelection against challenger William “Bill” Stahlman Jr. In last month’s general election, Duss was the top vote getter in the race with 301 votes for 30%. Stahlman had 253 votes for just over 25%, beating out Phil Friese’s 252 votes for just under 25%. Travis Fancher was fourth with 204 votes for 20%.
In Harrison, Charlie Pierce and Austin Wilson are running to succeed Liz Darden, who did not run for reelection. Pierce had the most votes in November with 1,659. Wilson advanced to the runoff with 1,294, beating Mellie Williams out by one vote.
Bull Shoals voters can cast their ballots at Bull Shoals City Hall on 706 C.S. Woods Boulevard. Harrison’s polling location is the Boone County Election Center at 414 West Central Avenue. Monday is the last day for early voting with the polls open from 8 to 4:30 at both locations. Voting hours on Tuesday will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
