A Baxter County Detention Center inmate is accused of spitting on and later assaulting another inmate. Thirty-two-year-old Lakin Greer of Jordan is facing charges of third-degree battery and imparing the operations of a vital public facility.

According to the incident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, a fight was reported in the C Pod in the late afternoon of Nov. 25. After the fight was broken up, a jailer was assisting one of the inmates to another pod and realized she had visible injuries.

Another jailer reviewed camera footage and observed Greer aggressively talking toward the victim. Greer reportedly walked toward the victim, who was getting a drink from a water cooler, and spit at her. The victim was trying to avoid engaging in the argument and went to sit back at the table. Greer allegedly ran toward her and struck her on the left side of the head.

Greer has been incarcerated since Oct. 27 on charges of possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance, parole violation, failure to appear and non-payment of fines. Her bond is currently set at $5,835.
