Nonprofit organizations across the Twin Lakes Area are gearing up for Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity set for Dec. 3. The annual event encourages individuals and businesses to donate money, time, or resources to causes they care about as the holiday season begins.

Local groups like the Baxter Health Foundation and the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas are among those participating in the movement, which started in 2012 and has grown into an international celebration of philanthropy.

The Baxter Health Foundation states all Giving Tuesday donations will benefit the Baxter Health community houses including the Mruk Family Center on Aging, the Peitz Cancer Support House and the Schliemann Center for Women’s Health. All donations received Tuesday will be matched up to $50,000 thanks to the Baxter Health Auxiliary. For more information, visit baxterhealth.org/givingtuesday.

Donations made Tuesday to the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas on Tuesday will be matched up to $30,000. For more information, visit foodbanknca.org.
