The city of Bull Shoals will have another new mayor when the new year begins. Challenger William “Bill” Stahlman defeated incumbent Carol Duss in Tuesday night’s runoff election.
Stahlman ended up with 283 votes for 53% of the tally. Duss, who was appointed to the mayoral position in April, was the top vote getter during November’s general election, but that trend did not continue as she finished with 250 votes for 47%.
Bull Shoals will have a new look for its city council once the winners are sworn in at the beginning of 2025. Ward 1, Position 1 councilman Daryl J. Lindman was the city’s lone incumbent to win his reelection bid in November and stave off a challenge.
Charlie Pierce will be the newest city councilman for Ward 3, Position 1 in Harrison. Pierce secured 117 votes in the runoff for 72%, beating Austin Wilson’s 46 votes for 28%. Pierce will succeed Liz Darden, who did not run for reelection.
Tuesday’s election results are unofficial until certified by the county election commissions.
