A Boone County man faces charges after allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card. Twenty-three-year-old Triston Keith Breger is facing charges of felony theft by receiving and misdemeanor criminal use of prohibited weapons following the Nov. 5 incident.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Harrison Police Department were dispatched to Casey’s after receiving a report of a customer attempting to use a potentially stolen credit card. The store employee told dispatch that the suspect had left the store and entered a black Cadillac in the parking lot.
The employee said the suspect, identified as Breger, had attempted to purchase $300 in gift cards when a woman called the store, questioning why her card was being charged. The victim provided the last four digits of her card, which matched the card Breger allegedly used.
Police located Breger and detected the smell of marijuana coming from his vehicle. A subsequent search revealed three gift cards, five credit or debit cards, an Arkansas driver’s license, two Arkansas EBT cards, and a Social Security card belonging to the victim. Officers also found brass knuckles in a backpack, which Breger claimed as his.
Breger was taken into custody and transported to the Boone County Jail. He is charged with one felony count of theft by receiving and one misdemeanor count of criminal use of prohibited weapons.
