Cotter Robotics Team at Reed Springs
Cotter’s first year of competition for its newly formed 7th-grade robotics team is already getting noticed at area robotics competitions. The Cotter robotics team recently secured the Judges Award at the Reeds Spring VEX IQ Robotics Competition in Reed Springs, MO.
The award is given to the team that displays special attributes, exemplary effort, or perseverance at the event. The team interview is also a deciding factor for the award, as the winning team must demonstrate effective communication skills, teamwork, professionalism, and a student-centered ethos.

The full day of competition in Reed Springs saw Cotter face off against 30 other schools from Missouri and Arkansas. Teams were tasked with building and programming a robot to compete in a ball toss game. While Cotter has competed in VEX robotics competitions for three years, this was the first appearance for the new 7th-grade team.
Mr. Williams, who leads the Warriors’ team, said he is very proud of the effort put in by his 7th graders, especially considering they faced tough competition from teams with students as old as ninth grade.
