A licensed law enforcement officer employed by the Lead Hill School District accidentally discharged his firearm, injuring himself.
In a letter to parents, the district’s superintendent explained that the incident occurred around noon on Tuesday in a private office, where the officer was alone at the time. Fortunately, the officer’s injuries were reported as non-life threatening.
The employee was legally authorized to carry a firearm on campus as part of his duties.
