A law enforcement official accidentally shot himself in an office on the campus of the Lead Hill School District Tuesday. The injury was not believed to be life threatening. The man was not identified.According to a statement from Lead Hill School District Superintendent Tami Richey posted on Facebook, the incident happened around noon in a private office when the individual accidentally discharged his firearm. No students, staff or other individuals were in the vicinity at the time, and the safety of everyone on campus was never compromised.
Richey says the man is a licensed law enforcement professional and is legally authorized to carry a firearm on campus. She called it an unfortunate accident and said they are working with law enforcement to ensure all safety protocols continue to be followed.
