MHHS basketball teams to play in Billy Ply Memorial Tournament semifinals at Flippin

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule, and it includes the second day of the Billy Ply Memorial Tournament at Flippin. Both of Mountain Home’s teams will be competing in the semifinals.
The boys’ games will be played in the old gym, and Mountain Home will have the third game as they meet Chadwick, Mo. Tip-off is scheduled for 7.
Flippin will compete in the other semifinal game. The host Bobcats face Lake Hamilton’s varsity team at 8:30.
On the consolation side, Shiloh Christian and Harrisburg get underway at 4, and Highland takes on the Lake Hamilton junior varsity squad at 5:30.
The girls’ games will be held in the new gym, and Mountain Home will take part in the final game of the night against Bentonville West. Gametime is set for 8:30.
Two area teams will square off in the first semifinal. Flippin and Bergman are slated for 7.
In the consolation games, Southside Batesville plays Harrisburg at 4, and Highland will be paired with Thayer, Mo., at 5:30.
All of Mountain Home’s games will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.

Izard County’s boys will return to Jonesboro to compete on the consolation side of the bracket in the Barry Pruitt Hurricane Classic. The Cougars meet Subiaco Academy at 4.

Both Harrison teams will continue play in the Freedom Bank Willard Basketball Classic. The Lady Goblins face Columbia Rock Bridge at 5:30, and the Harrison boys take on Springfield Glendale at 8:30.

Elsewhere, Cotter travels to Newark to play Cedar Ridge, Norfork hosts Timbo, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Shirley, Viola heads to Fox to meet Rural Special, Calico Rock entertains Greers Ferry West Side, Bakersfield’s girls are home against Niangua, Mammoth Spring travels to Marshall, the Melbourne boys host Thayer, Bergman’s boys will begin play in the Drew Central Classic at Monticello, and Valley Springs will send three boys’ teams to Beebe.
