Little Rock Parkview’s football team captured its third consecutive Class 5A state championship Friday night at War Memorial Stadium. Just like their win last year, the mercy rule was needed as the Patriots routed Farmington 61-21.
Cameron Settles was the game’s most valuable player as he led Parkview with eight carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns, and on defense, he came up with an interception and returned it 19 yards. Emmanuel Bunting was 9-of-15 through the air for 154 yards, two scores and two interceptions. For the Cardinals, Ayden Lester completed 18 passes out of 42 attempts for 227 yards, three touchdowns and two picks.
Both teams finish the season at 12-1.
