Greenwood dominates Shiloh Christian for 2nd straight Class 6A state title

Greenwood’s football team successfully defended its state championship from a year ago. The Bulldogs’ road to their 12th overall championship ended with an easy 61-35 victory over Shiloh Christian in Saturday’s Class 6A title game in Little Rock.

Greenwood quarterback Kane Archer was named the game’s most valuable player as he was 22-of-29 through the air for 321 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also led the Bulldogs’ ground attack with 18 carries for 131 yards and four additional scores. Grant Karnes had seven catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Champ Davis added 10 receptions for 106 yards, and on defense, he ended up with a 99-yard pick-six.

For the Saints, Jake Bodenstein completed 27 passes out of 42 attempts for 382 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Chandler Kemp caught seven passes for 173 yards and a score, and Zane Sluyter had 12 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Greenwood finishes the season at 13-0, and Shiloh Christian falls to 9-4.
