A Mountain Home man entered a guilty plea to three counts of sexual assault during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Thirty-seven-year-old Richard Allen Druckrey had initially been charged with two counts of rape and one count of second-degree sexual assault. The rape charges were reduced by the state.

Druckrey is alleged to have shown up at the Baxter County Detention Center and “confessed” to his crimes.

During a recent court session, Druckrey told Circuit Judge John Putman he wanted the confession “suppressed” and a psychological evaluation done.

He said he had requested that those actions be taken in his case but had not been able to get his attorney to do what he wanted done.

He had changed his mind by Monday and entered the guilty plea.

Druckrey has been an inmate at the county jail since June 15.

Information on the crimes Druckrey is accused of committing in his criminal case has been sealed by the court as is normal in rape cases.

In reciting the facts during the plea-taking process, Deputy Prosecutor Kerry Chism said there had been three incidents of inappropriate sexual contact between Druckrey and a minor.

In a domestic relations divorce suit recently filed against Druckrey, it is also alleged that he had physically abused a minor child.

Druckrey will also be required to register as a sex offender.
