A 15-year-old teenager is facing charges after allegedly stealing two school buses and crashing one of them in Mayflower, according to the Conway Police Department. On Monday, December 9, police received a report of the missing teen after classes ended at Conway High School. As officers searched for the teenager, Faulkner County deputies found him in Mayflower, where they said he had crashed a school bus into a ditch on Lollie Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers learned from the Conway school resource officer supervisor that the teen had stolen a school bus from Conway High School earlier in the day. He drove the bus to Conway Junior High School, dropped it off, and then took a second bus. Authorities said the teen continued driving, and multiple calls were made to dispatch reporting a Conway Public Schools bus being driven recklessly through the city and into the county.

The teenager later admitted to stealing both buses, officials said. He was taken into custody by the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, where he made his first court appearance. Police confirmed he has since been released.
