The Bombers ended up beating the Zizzers 75-61. The first half was a back-and-forth affair with seven lead changes and five ties. West Plains had a one-point lead at the end of the opening quarter, and Mountain Home went into the locker room up three at the break. The Bombers’ defense picked up nearly halfway through the third period as they began stepping into some of the Zizzers’ passing lanes to come away with steals to end the quarter up 10. West Plains started fouling early in the final period, and while it wasn’t Mountain Home’s best shooting performance from the line, they were able to hold off a comeback attempt to win by 14.

Blaine Tate led the Bombers with 18 points, Ryder McClain scored 17, Rhett Gilbert had 16, Tyler Podwoski recorded 14, and Jackson Corp added 10 points. Clayton Robbins finished with 28 points for the Zizzers, and Jared Kraft ended up with 11.

West Plains falls to 1-4 on the season. Mountain Home improves to 5-4, and they’ll be in Farmington on Thursday to meet Ozark Catholic in their first game of the Bad Boy Mowers Cardinal Classic.
