Arkadelphia shuts out Elkins for Class 4A state championship

The last day of Arkansas’ high school football season began with Arkadelphia claiming the Class 4A state championship. The Badgers shut out Elkins 28-0 Saturday in Little Rock.

Brayden Wagner was named the game’s most valuable player with six tackles and two interceptions. Also for Arkadelphia, Bryston McCoy was 15-of-37 through the air with 246 yards, three touchdowns and a pick. Elks’ quarterback Ben Napier completed 12 passes out of 37 attempts for 103 yards and four interceptions.

The Badgers finish the season at 13-2. Elkins’ final record is 14-1.
