Bomber JH Teams Face Tough Competition at Marion

The Mountain Home Bombers junior high boys basketball teams hit the road to take on Marion, facing a tough opponent in both the 8th and 9th-grade matchups.The 8th-grade Bombers struggled to find their rhythm early as Marion built an early lead and carried it through to a 47-18 win. Mountain Home trailed 16-5 after the first quarter and faced a 26-5 deficit at halftime. The Bombers showed signs of life in the third quarter, scoring 9 points, but Marion extended its lead to 34-14 heading into the final frame. Mountain Home added four more points in the fourth, but the game ended with Marion on top, 47-18.

Finley Maxey led the Bombers with 8 points, while Connor Gentry added 4. The 8th-grade team’s record now stands at 2-8.

In the 9th-grade contest, the Bombers started off strong but couldn’t maintain their momentum as Marion pulled away to secure a 53-20 victory. Mountain Home kept things close in the first quarter, trailing just 16-12, but struggled to score in the second and fell behind 33-13 at halftime. The Bombers added five points in the third, but Marion increased its advantage to 45-18. By the fourth quarter, Mountain Home managed just two more points, as Marion finished with the win, 53-20.

Brody Brown led the Bombers with 7 points.
