The Arkansas High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025 has been unveiled, and two girls’ basketball coaches with ties to the Twin Lakes Area will be among the inductees. Leslie Henderson and Sherry White will be enshrined during a ceremony this summer.

Henderson is a 1983 Mountain Home High School graduate that spent most of her career at Watson Chapel. The former Leslie Marler coached for the Lady Wildcats from 1989 until her retirement this past spring and led the program to five state championships. She has been selected to coach in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star game four times, three times as an assistant coach and once as the head coach. Prior to her time at Watson Chapel, she served for one season as a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

White is an alum of Bruno-Pyatt High School and coached at Mountain Home from 1982 to 1985. She led Hot Springs to a state championship in 1990, but her greatest success came during her five-year tenure at Harrison. White led the Lady Goblins to state championships in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. She later coached at Fort Smith Southside and Russellville before retiring in 2020, a year after being inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Her retirement was short-lived, and she is now serving as the head coach at Malvern.

Henderson and White will be honored during the induction banquet scheduled for July 11 in Hot Springs. They’ll be joined by former Lake Hamilton multi-sport coach Jamie Bridges, former Alma boys’ basketball coach Stan Flenor, former Greenwood football coach Rick Jones and former Greenland and Greenwood girls’ basketball coach Clay Reeves.
