The Cotter High School basketball teams ended up getting swept at Marshall on Tuesday. The Warriors fell to the Bobcats 59-55 in the boys’ game. Cotter also lost the girls’ contest to Marshall 58-32.
Flippin split its high school games at Valley Springs.
The Bobcats were able to take the boys’ game. Flippin squeaked by the Tigers by a final of 46-44.
Flippin had a different result in the girls’ contest as they fell to Valley Springs 56-27. Alyssa Shelton was the Lady Bobcats’ top scorer with 12 points. Macy Willis had 27 points for the Lady Tigers, Laramie Watkins recorded 12, and Tayla Trammell added 10. Valley Springs improves to 15-2 on the season and 2-0 in the 3A-2.
Yellville-Summit High School’s teams were swept at home by Melbourne. The Panthers lost the boys’ game to the Bearkatz 59-36. Melbourne also won the girls’ contest 61-31.
Viola was swept in a pair of high school games by West Side at Greers Ferry.
The Lady Longhorns fell to the Lady Eagles 57-27. Taylor Richardson led Viola with 10 points.
Viola’s boys followed with a 67-35 defeat at the hands of West Side. The Longhorns were led by Kody Hart with 13 points.
Calico Rock was able to dominate its games over Shirley as the mercy rule was needed in both. The Lady Pirates routed the Lady Blue Devils 62-11. The Calico Rock boys later pounded Shirley 82-37.
Bakersfield’s girls had a successful road trip. The Lady Lions went to Houston and picked up the 51-45 victory.
The Salem girls had a tough night at home as they lost their conference opener. The Lady Greyhounds fell to Mountain View 36-31.
Izard County had three wins as they had four games with Cedar Ridge at Newark. The Lady Cougars topped the Lady Timberwolves 55-49 in the senior girls’ game. Izard County’s only loss was in the senior boys’ contest as they fell to Cedar Ridge 62-54. The Izard County junior boys needed double overtime, but they got past Cedar Ridge 46-38. Izard County’s junior girls invoked the mercy rule as they destroyed Cedar Ridge 36-5.
The Dora boys had a rough outing on their home floor. The Falcons lost to Fordland 65-40.
Mammoth Spring was swept in four games at Tuckerman. The Bears’ teams lost the senior boys’ game 76-33, the senior girls’ contest 60-30, the junior boys’ game 51-15 and the junior girls’ game 30-9.
Rural Special’s boys picked up a conference win on the road. The Rebels got past Concord 55-52.
Lead Hill ended up splitting its high school games at Omaha.
The Tigers won the senior boys’ game over the Eagles 84-56. Hagen Hayes was Lead Hill’s leading scorer with 23 points and was 7-of-9 from the arc, Noah Royce and Kaden Baker each finished with 13, and Brett Arnold chipped in 10 points.
It was a different result in the senior girls’ contest. Lead Hill suffered a 61-24 defeat to Omaha.
Lead Hill was able to take the junior boys’ game over Omaha 45-36. Tucker Middleton paced the Junior Tigers with 23 points. Ryder Larson ended up with 18 for the Junior Eagles.
Bergman had a pair of dominating high school wins at Cave City. The Lady Panthers put the mercy rule in effect as they beat up on the Cavewomen 64-19. Bergman’s boys also defeated Cave City 77-53.
The Harrison girls had a good night as they went across the state line. The Lady Goblins topped Branson by a score of 41-35.
The Ozark Mountain High School teams came away with a sweep over Alpena at Western Grove. The Lady Bears beat the Lady Leopards 66-47. Ozark Mountain also won the boys’ contest 58-44.
Jasper went to Rogers and swept its high school games over Founders Classical Academy. The Lady Pirates destroyed the Lady Spartans 58-11. Jasper also captured the boys’ game 79-53.
