MHHS girls win home opener over Heritage

The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team’s first home game ended with another victory. The Lady Bombers ended up with a 66-41 decision over Heritage from Rogers.

Mountain Home came out scoring the first 12 points of the game. Nearly 4 1/2 minutes had gone by before the Lady War Eagles got their first points on the board. The Lady Bombers went into the locker room up 38-22 at the break. Mountain Home pulled further away as they outscored Heritage 24-9 in the third quarter, and the mercy rule was invoked the moment the final period began.

Laykin Moore led the Lady Bombers with 14 points, Anna McCarn scored 13, Jayla Yonkers had 11, and Livi Fosness added 10 points. Teagan Holt recorded 12 points for the Lady War Eagles.

Heritage falls to 1-11 on the season. Mountain Home improves to 11-2, and they’ll return to the Hangar on Thursday to meet Rector on the opening night of the Atlas Asphalt Basketball Tournament.
