Two men arrested in connection with Black Friday shooting in North Little Rock

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that took place on November 29, 2024, on Interstate 40 near the 154-mile marker. The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Black Friday and followed a confrontation earlier in the day.

According to authorities, the altercation began as a verbal dispute at a sporting goods store in North Little Rock. The suspects, identified as Valtorean Batemen and Treon Bone, then followed the victims onto I-40. Once on the highway, the suspects fired several shots into the victims’ vehicle, injuring the driver in the leg. The injured victim was taken to UAMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a passenger in the vehicle was not harmed.

Batemen, 19, of Sherwood, voluntarily turned himself in to Pulaski County District Court on December 11, 2024. Eight days later, on December 19, 2024, Bone, 20, also of Sherwood, surrendered to authorities.

Both men face multiple charges, including Committing a Terrorist Act, Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon, and Attempted Capital Murder.
