A Little Rock man was arrested Friday night after leading Arkansas State Police (ASP) Troopers on a high-speed chase through central Arkansas. The incident began at approximately 10 p.m. on December 20, 2024, when ASP Troopers attempted to pull over a 2010 white Chrysler 300 on Highway 67 at exit 1 for a traffic violation.
Instead of stopping, the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Malcolm Curry of Little Rock, accelerated rapidly and fled westbound on Interstate 40, reaching speeds of up to 130 mph. During the pursuit, Curry turned off all vehicle lights and passed other cars recklessly on the shoulder.
The chase continued onto Interstate 430, where Curry exited at Colonel Glenn Road and then turned onto Lawson Road. The pursuit ended when Curry lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Curry fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by Troopers. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of illegal drugs, including 14 boxes of PolkaDot psychoactive mushrooms, 47 Ecstasy pills, two pounds of marijuana, and three bottles of promethazine.
Curry was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital before being taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center. He faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Fleeing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unauthorized Use of Property, and numerous traffic violations.
