On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the McCrory Police Department called upon the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to probe a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Seaman Street in McCrory.
Dennis Wayne Barber, 48, of McCrory, was critically injured in the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Little Rock.
The suspect, 37-year-old Trent Allen Branscum, also of McCrory, was apprehended by Woodruff County Sheriffs deputies after allegedly fleeing the scene. He has been charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder and is now being held at the Woodruff County Detention Center.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
