Friday basketball schedule includes 2nd day of Atlas Asphalt Basketball Tournament at MH

High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home continues to host the Atlas Asphalt Basketball Tournament, and both host teams will take part in the semifinals.
The Lady Bombers, coming off their win over Rector, will meet Cabot. Tip-off at Bomber Gymnasium is scheduled for 6. The other semifinal will pair Greers Ferry West Side with North Little Rock at 3:20. On the consolation side, Paragould and Dumas get underway at 10, and Flippin faces Rector at 12:40.
Mountain Home’s boys will take on Greene County Tech after their victory over Dumas. This will be the second matchup between the two teams. The Bombers fell to the Golden Eagles 76-61 right before Thanksgiving in Paragould. Gametime is set for 7:20. Flippin plays Farmington in the other semifinal at 4:40. In the consolation games, Paragould goes up against Rector at 11:20, and Cotter meets Dumas at 2.

The Yellville-Summit girls will be in Ozark for their opener in the Bank OZK Classic. The Lady Panthers face Paris at 12:40.

Three area teams will continue action in the CS Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament at Berryville. On the girls’ side, Viola takes on Crane, Mo., at 10, and Mountain View plays Mayflower at 3:20. Mountain View’s boys will be matched up with Heber Springs at 7:20.

Two area boys’ teams will be in Couch for the start of the Hardwood Holiday Classic. Lutie meets the host school at 1:30, and Viola faces Koshkonong at 3.

The Bakersfield girls will play their second game in the Gainesville Lady Bulldog Holiday Tournament. It will be a battle between Lady Lions as Bakersfield takes on Mansfield at 2.

Bakersfield’s boys will continue action in the Winter Warrior Classic at St. Genevieve. The Lions will play Valle Catholic.

Three area boys’ teams will resume play in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Gainesville will be paired with Summersville at 10:30, Dora meets Plato at noon, and Mammoth Spring faces Eminence at 4:30.

The Lendel Thomas Classic will continue at Harrison. On the boys’ side, Salem takes on Mena at 3, Bergman plays Carthage, Mo., at 5:50, Valley Springs will be matched up with the host Goblins at 8:20. On the girls’ bracket, Bergman meets Earle at 4:30, and Harrison faces Branson at 7:10.

The Izard County boys will play their second game in the Poplar Bluff Showdown. The Cougars take on the host Mules at 7.

Three area girls’ teams will compete on the second day of the Lady Blackhawk Invitational at Pea Ridge. Mammoth Spring plays Alma in the consolation bracket at 4. In the semifinals, Valley Springs will go up against Arkadelphia at 7, and Melbourne meets Pea Ridge at 8:30.

Melbourne’s boys will take part in the Maverick Division semifinals of the Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational at Highland. The Bearkatz face Thayer, Mo., at 3.

A few area teams will be in Harrison for the start of the North Arkansas College High School Pioneer Classic. In the boys’ games, Ozark Mountain takes on Concord at 3, and Rural Special plays Lead Hill at 7. The Rural Special girls will be paired with Ozark Mountain at 5:40.
